    About This Art

Back in 1953, this abstract belonged to another kind of home — a Paris apartment where Matisse worked from bed with scissors and painted paper. Bring it into a quiet modern living room and the cream background settles down with the walls while the blue, green, yellow and warm orange shapes do all the lifting. It works best on a clear wall above a low sideboard, sofa or console where you have room to step back. Pair it with linen upholstery, oak or walnut timber, woven rugs and a few stoneware pieces. Don't crowd it with other bold prints or busy florals — this one wants space, not a gallery wall.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

Made responsiblyFSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the bright blue, green and yellow look too loud in a calm neutral room?

The cream background takes up most of the picture, so the bold blocks read as accents rather than wall-to-wall colour. On a soft white or oat wall it lifts the room without shouting. If your sofa and rugs are already busy, hang it where it has space to breathe.

Is this better as one big piece or part of a gallery wall?

Solo, every time. The cut-out shapes already do the job of several artworks at once, so clustering it with other prints flattens the impact. Give it a clear wall on its own, or pair it with something very quiet and small off to one side.

Does the cream paper background work on an off-white or magnolia wall?

Yes, the warm cream ground sits happily on most off-white, oat and chalky neutral walls and stops the piece feeling cold. On a stark bright-white wall a white frame helps blend the edges in. On a darker wall the cream becomes part of the artwork's glow.
