    About This Art

This isn't wall filler. It's deep black with a point of view. Two white geese drift through pale reeds, drawn with the unhurried confidence of a 1920s Japanese woodblock.

Put this up and the room slows down. The black ground does the heavy lifting — walls read softer around it, lamps look warmer, and the white shapes carry across the room from the doorway.

Works best on a quiet wall in a bedroom, study or hallway, hung at eye level. Good above a low sideboard or a writing desk. Give it a little breathing room either side.

Pair it with dark stained oak, linen in off-white, stoneware bowls and a brushed brass lamp. A black frame disappears into the print; an oak frame softens it.

As a canvas, the matte surface keeps the deep black calm and absorbs lamplight without glare.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Is the background actually a solid deep black, or is it dark grey?

The ground reads as a true deep black, with the white reeds and birds doing all the lifting against it. On premium fine-art paper the black stays rich rather than dusty, and on canvas the matte surface keeps it calm under lamplight rather than glossy or grey-looking.

Will this feel too heavy in a small bedroom?

Not usually. The black ground is large but the composition itself is calm — two clear shapes and some reeds, not a busy pattern. In a smaller bedroom, go for the medium size above a low chest or behind the headboard, and keep the surrounding wall plain so the print has room to breathe.

Does the print include the Japanese Art Collection text and the dates around the image?

Yes — the layout shown is the print as supplied, with the artist name above and the work title and 1928 date below, framed by a generous off-white border. It's designed to work as a poster-style piece, so it sits well unframed or in a slim frame that follows the border.
