    About This Art

Take everything else off that wall. That hallway wall by the stairs is the spot, and it wants this alone, with nothing hung above or beside it. Kandinsky painted the study for a New York entrance hall in 1914 and it still behaves like a mural, so the yellow and bright blue need plain plaster around them to settle. Paint the wall off-white. Skip patterned runners underfoot, skip the gallery of family photos, and move the coat hooks to the opposite side. One bench in pale wood is plenty. The red flecks pick up a single cushion or a doormat, and that is all the matching this needs. Keep the lamps warm and simple. Below 90cm tall the lines turn fussy, so go large and give it the full height. Choose the art print on premium fine-art paper with a black frame to hold the edges.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the colours work with a grey sofa?

Yes, and grey is one of the easier pairings. The painting has a lot of soft grey and white in it already, so a grey sofa reads as part of the same family. The bright blue and yellow then do the lifting. Keep the cushions plain and pick one, in mustard or navy, rather than trying to match every colour in the picture.

Is it too busy for a small hallway?

It depends on what else is there. In a narrow hall with a bare wall and a plain floor it works well, because the height fills the wall and nothing competes. It struggles when it shares the space with coat racks, patterned tiles and a run of photos. Clear the wall first and the busyness becomes the point rather than a problem.

Does it work hung as a pair with the other season studies?

Kandinsky made four studies, one for each season, so a pair is faithful to the original idea. Spring or Autumn sits comfortably next to Summer if you have a wide enough wall, with a hand's width between them. On a narrow wall stay with one. Two tall pieces side by side need at least 150cm of clear wall to breathe.
