    About This Art

'Too safe,' said nobody standing in front of a soft yellow Lisbon townhouse and a tiled blue tram. This Portuguese cityscape brings warmth, travel memory and a bit of life to a quiet wall.

Hang it and the room shifts. The yellows lift cream walls, the blue tile pattern picks up cushions and ceramics, and the wrought iron balconies add just enough detail to keep the eye moving without making the room feel busy.

Works best above a console in a hallway, over a sideboard in the dining room, or in a kitchen that already leans warm. Eye-level is fine; just above a low piece of furniture is better.

Pair it with pale oak, rattan, linen, brass handles and a few blue and white ceramics. Terracotta pots and a stack of cookbooks finish the mood nicely.

Don't pile it onto an already loud wall — give it a calm backdrop so the yellow and tile do the work. Printed on premium fine-art paper.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

    Made responsibly
FSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the yellow look too bright on a cream wall?

No — the yellow here is soft and muted, closer to a pale buttery tone than a saturated lemon. On a cream or off-white wall it reads warm and welcoming rather than loud, and the cream of the townhouses helps it sit comfortably with the surrounding wall.

Is the tram or the architecture the focal point?

The tram sits in the lower right and reads first because of the blue tile pattern, but the eye then travels up through the balconies and yellow facade. It's balanced — neither element dominates — which is why it works as a single statement piece rather than needing companions.

Does it work in a room with no other Portuguese or travel pieces?

Yes. The palette — soft yellow, cream, blue and warm beige — is friendly enough that it doesn't need a Portugal theme to anchor it. It reads simply as a warm painterly cityscape, and sits happily in hallways, kitchens or dining rooms styled around oak, linen and ceramics.
