Against plaster, the mustard yellow reads less sweet, more deliberate. The warm brick, blue water and quick black linework give a city sketch a room can actually live with.
Up on the wall, the room loosens. Hard furniture lines soften next to the loose brush marks, and the yellow throws a bit of warmth back into the space without shouting.
It sits well above a sofa, sideboard or hallway console — anywhere the eye lands on the way past. Best at standard eye level, with a bit of breathing room either side.
