    About This Art

Nothing in this soft green and warm red still life whispers, even when the living room does. It's a Matisse from 1906 — loose brushwork, a round vase, a tangle of garden flowers in red, mustard and ochre against dusty green and mauve.

Hang it and a quiet wall stops feeling polite. The colour is warm but never shouty, so the room gains energy without tipping into busy. Painterly brushwork reads as relaxed, not formal.

It works best above a sofa, a sideboard or a writing desk, at eye level on a feature wall. Side-light from a window or a low lamp brings out the layered greens and the dusty pinks in the background.

Pairs well with linen and velvet, oak or walnut, brass lamps and stoneware. Plaster or warm off-white walls flatter it best.

What to avoid: a wall already crowded with other strong florals — let this one carry the colour. The painterly surface reads especially well on canvas, where the texture sits flush with the brushwork.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the dusty greens and mauves look muddy on a warm white wall?

No — they read clearer against warm white or soft plaster than against bright white. The mauves in the background warm up and the greens hold their colour. If your wall is a cool grey-white, the picture will look more muted than it should.

Is the floral central or off-centre in the composition?

The vase sits roughly central but slightly left, with the bouquet stretching up and to the right. That means it hangs well on a wall with a small amount of room to the right — over a sideboard with a lamp to one side, for example, rather than dead-centre on a perfectly symmetrical wall.

How busy does this read on the wall?

Moderately busy. The flowers are loose rather than detailed, so from across a room it reads as soft colour and shape, not fussy pattern. Up close you'll see individual brushmarks. It won't fight a patterned cushion or rug, but pair it with one strong pattern, not three.
