    Back in 1919, this Mediterranean village scene belonged to another kind of home — sun-warmed walls, shutters half-closed against the afternoon, two cypresses standing guard.

    On a wall, it brings warmth without shouting. The ochre fills the room with a soft glow, the dark green cypresses ground it, and the strip of blue sky keeps it from feeling heavy.

    It likes a calm wall — chalky off-white, soft grey, pale plaster — and a bit of height. Between windows, above a low sideboard, or at the end of a hallway all work.

    Pair it with oak or walnut, linen, stoneware, terracotta and aged brass. A bench, a stack of books, a single ceramic.

    Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

    Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

    When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

    Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

    Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

    You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

    How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

    Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

    Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

    Does the orange-yellow dominate the room, or is it balanced?

    The ochre wall takes up most of the picture, so the print does bring real warmth into a space. The two dark green cypresses and the strip of soft blue sky balance it, but treat this as a warm-leaning piece. It works best on a cooler wall — chalky off-white, soft grey or pale plaster — rather than competing with a yellow or peach wall.

    Is the composition strongly vertical?

    Yes. The two cypresses run from near the bottom edge to the top, so the eye is pulled upward. That makes it a good fit for tall, narrow walls — between windows, beside a doorway, or above a slim console. It is less suited to short, wide walls where the verticality fights the proportions.

    Will it look right in a modern home, or is it strictly traditional?

    The brushwork is loose and the colours are quite painterly, so it sits more comfortably in organic-modern, Mediterranean and lived-in transitional rooms than in strictly minimal ones. Pair it with oak, linen and stoneware and it modernises easily. Hang it in a glossy ultra-modern setting and the painted surface can feel at odds.
