    About This Art

Some rooms never get a sunset. A north-facing hallway, a landing with one small window, a bedroom that looks onto the neighbours. Give that wall a moonrise instead. The lilac at the top cools the ceiling line, and the peach beneath it does what a west window does at seven in the evening, warms the plaster and settles the room. Hang it on the slim stretch between two doors, the moon just above eye level, with the walls either side left bare. Pale linen nearby, a stripped pine chair, no bright white gloss. Mustard reads best against off-white or clay paint. Below 80cm tall the squares blur into pattern. Go large. One tall thing on a thin wall beats three small ones. On canvas the knife marks inside each square keep their texture, as if painted straight onto the wall.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the lilac clash with a warm cream wall?

No, and cream is one of the better backgrounds for it. The lilac only takes up the top third, and the peach and mustard below sit comfortably against warm neutrals. The wall colours to be careful with are lilac, lavender and pale blue, which swallow the sky and leave the picture looking bottom heavy. Clay pink, off-white and oat all work.

How tall should I go on a hallway wall?

Aim for the piece to fill about two thirds of the height between skirting and ceiling. In a typical UK hallway that means at least 80cm tall, and 100cm or more if the ceiling is high. Smaller than that and the squares turn into a texture, the tree at the base disappears and the wall looks underdressed rather than considered.

Does it read as a landscape or an abstract from across the room?

From a few metres away it reads as a landscape first: moon, hills, fields and a single tree are clear. The grid only takes over as you get close, when each square shows its own brush marks. That is why it suits places you walk past, a landing or a hallway, where you get both readings in the space of a few steps.
