    About This Art

August is when this earns its keep. The windows are open, the bedding has gone down to one white sheet, and the long wall above the headboard wants something that feels like a holiday without being a postcard. Navy on cream does that. It reads as sea air against painted tongue-and-groove or a plain limewashed wall, and it still holds its own once the light goes flat in October. Hang it around 100cm wide, level with the top of the headboard, with nothing either side. Striped linen under it, a jute rug, one blue glass bottle on the sill. Keep competing blues off the bed. What makes it work is the reach, so give it the full width. On canvas it arrives stretched and ready to hang, with no glazing to catch the morning glare.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the navy feel too dark in a small bathroom?

In a white tiled bathroom it does the opposite. The cream ground carries most of the surface, so the wall stays light, and the navy gives the eye one place to land. Keep the other fittings pale, white towels, light grout, unlacquered brass taps, and it reads as crisp rather than heavy. Dark painted bathrooms are the exception, where the navy would merge with the wall.

How wide should I go above a king bed?

Aim for the artwork to span roughly two thirds of the headboard, which for a standard UK king means around 100 to 120cm wide. The 2:1 format keeps the height modest at that width, so it sits comfortably between headboard and ceiling without crowding either. Hang it with the bottom edge about 20cm above the headboard top and leave the rest of the wall bare.

Is an octopus too childish for an adult bedroom?

Not in this treatment. The flat navy silhouette has more in common with a harbour-town poster than a nursery picture, and in a room of white linen and pale timber it reads as coastal and a little dry-witted. It works just as well in a child's room, which is why it suits households where the room will change hands in a few years.
