We like still lifes best when they come with a little abrasion. The brushwork here is loose, the purple cloth is bruised and brilliant, and the oysters look properly fresh rather than tidy. Put it up and the kitchen or dining wall stops feeling functional — it starts to feel like somewhere people gather for a long, slow lunch. Hang it above a bar cart, a sideboard, or on a feature wall where you eat. It plays well with stoneware, linen, oak and aged brass, and lifts plaster or off-white walls. Are Fab canvas prints good quality?
Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.
When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.
Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?
Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.
You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.
How do I know what size will actually work in my space?
Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.
Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

What's your return policy?
If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.
We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.
Will the deep purple cloth dominate a small kitchen?
The purple is rich but muted, not neon, and it's balanced by the soft sage background and pale plate. In a small kitchen it reads as a warm anchor rather than a heavy block. If your walls are already a strong colour, give it a calm off-white or plaster backdrop so the cloth has room to breathe.
Does this look better above a bar cart or above a dining sideboard?
Both work. The portrait shape suits a bar cart, where it sits naturally above bottles and glassware at eye level. Above a sideboard it becomes the dining anchor, especially if you're styling a long table for guests. We'd avoid hanging it directly over a cooker — the steam and grease aren't kind to any wall art.
Is the brushwork very loose or still recognisable as oysters and wine?
The subject is clearly readable from across the room — the plate of oysters, the wine bottle with its red cap, the filled glass and the lemon are all unmistakable. Up close, the brushwork loosens into visible strokes and patches of colour, which is part of the appeal. It reads as a painting, not a photograph.
