    About This Art

For a kitchen full of curves, this cartoon cat brings the check. A startled black cat hugs a cucumber against a flat coral-red background, with the word PICKLE in chunky pale type up top.

It gives a quiet kitchen or a tidy hallway something to laugh at. The deep red lifts off white walls and warms up plain timber, and the chunky type works like a sign rather than a picture.

Hang it where people stand around — the kettle wall, the fridge side, a kids' room above a low shelf, or a hallway near the back door. Eye level works; slightly lower works too if it sits above a bench or bunk.

Pair it with deep green cabinets, oak or beech worktops, enamel mugs, and woven baskets. A black frame keeps the joke sharp; an oak frame softens it.

Don't bury it next to other loud prints. It wants one wall to itself, or one calmer companion at most. The canvas gives the flat red a soft, painterly surface that suits the cartoon style.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Is the red background a true deep red or more of a pink?

It's a deep coral-red — warm, slightly muted, closer to a tomato or terracotta than a bright postbox red. It reads as red on the wall, not pink. The pale type and pink-cream nose on the cat add small softer notes, but the wall colour you'll notice is the deep red.

Will the word PICKLE feel too gimmicky after a while?

The type is treated like a vintage sign rather than a meme caption — chunky, slightly off-white, balanced against the cat. It reads as a poster, not a joke that wears out. If you already enjoy bold typographic prints or old grocer's signs, it will keep earning its spot.

Does this work in a kitchen with deep green cabinets?

Yes — the small green cucumber picks up cabinet green nicely, and the deep red sits well against most painted greens. Just keep the print on a wall that's a calmer colour (white, off-white, or pale plaster) rather than directly on top of a strong green, so the red has room to breathe.
