    About This Art

Before anyone mentions maximalist illustration, notice what the green gingham does to pale wood. The pattern fills the wall and pulls everything around it into a warm, summery mood. Kitchens come to life. Dining nooks stop feeling functional and start feeling like somewhere you'd linger. Hang it above a painted sideboard, a small breakfast table, or at the end of a galley kitchen where it can be the thing you look at. Pair with simple pale woods, painted cabinets, stoneware mugs and a few rattan or wicker textures — the print already brings the colour. Don't put it next to other busy patterned art or another loud lettering piece; it wants to be the loudest voice in the room. Choose unframed for a casual pinned-up feel, or framed in real wood for a sharper finish.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

Made responsiblyFSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the green gingham clash with a patterned tablecloth or wallpaper below it?

Likely yes. The gingham is the dominant pattern in the print, so it works best on a plain painted wall and over solid-coloured surfaces. If your room already has busy wallpaper or strong patterned textiles, this print will fight for attention rather than settle in.

Is the PICNIC SEASON lettering large enough to read from across a room?

Yes. The red hand-lettered words sit in the lower left and are sized to read easily at normal viewing distance — around 1.5 to 3 metres. From further away the lettering reads as a strong red shape that balances the pink hat in the top corner.

Does this work in a kitchen with cool blue or grey cabinets?

It can, but warmer kitchens suit it better. The print leans warm — pinks, reds, mustard and a deep grass green — so it sits most happily with cream, pale wood, sage or soft yellow cabinets. Against cool grey it still works but feels more like a deliberate pop of warmth.
