    How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

    Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

    Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

    Will the bright pool blue overpower a small living room?

    It's a strong piece, but the blue reads as cool and open rather than heavy, so it tends to make small rooms feel bigger rather than smaller. The trick is to leave the wall around it empty and keep nearby furniture in calm tones — pale wood, cream, tan leather — so the colour has somewhere to land.

    Are the cats the main focus, or is it more about the pool and architecture?

    The cats sit low in the composition and act as the soft centre, but the eye travels up through the pool to the mustard and orange panels and the tall green hedge. It reads as a full Palm Springs scene with the cats as the heart of it, rather than a straight pet portrait.

    Does it work in a portrait-orientation alcove or narrow wall?

    Yes — the composition is tall and the pool fills the lower half, so it suits a narrow vertical wall, a chimney breast, or a hallway end wall. The vertical pull of the hedge and palm trees keeps the eye moving up the wall rather than spilling sideways.
