    About This Art

We like portraits best when they come with a little abrasion. This pug isn't posing — he's turned away, glancing back over one shoulder, painted in loose watercolour with warm beige fur and a deep black muzzle.

Put him on a quiet wall and the room softens. The warm tones lift cream and oat-coloured rooms, and the looseness of the brushwork keeps it from tipping into cute or twee.

He works well above a low sideboard, beside a bed, or down a hallway where you catch him in passing. Quiet rooms suit him best.

Pair with linen, oak, cream ceramics and soft wool. He likes warm, simple company.

Don't crowd him with other strong characters — one good portrait per wall is plenty.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

Made responsiblyFSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

The colors are vibrant and the quality of the print is excellent. The paper it is printed on is very good quality, too. Will definitely buy more prints from you, I've very impressed with overall.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Is the pug shown from behind or facing the camera?

From behind, with his head turned to glance back over one shoulder. You see the curve of his back, the curled tail, and one ear and eye — not a full face-on portrait. It reads as a quieter, more characterful piece than a typical pet portrait.

Will the warm beige tones work on a cool grey wall?

Not brilliantly. The warm beige and brown sit best against off-white, cream or warm-painted walls. On cool grey the print can feel like it's floating in the wrong key. If your walls are cool, frame in slim black to give it a stronger edge.

Is this big enough to hang on its own above a sofa?

He's a fairly quiet piece with a lot of soft background, so above a sofa he reads best at the larger size, or paired with one or two companions. Above a console, bed or hallway bench he holds the wall well on his own at medium size.
