    About This Art

When the living room feels over-arranged, this kind of dog drawing helps. It is one continuous mess of black pen lines that somehow lands as a pug, and that bit of mischief loosens a room that has gone too tidy. Hang it where the eye needs somewhere casual to land: above a low sideboard, beside a doorway, or on the short wall of a hallway. It sits happily with linen sofas, black metal legs, pale wood and plain white walls, and it gives dark furniture a lift. Keep the surrounding wall fairly clear so the scribble reads as a shape rather than a smudge, and skip fussy patterned wallpaper directly behind it. As a canvas the soft surface takes the sharp edge off the ink.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

From sizing to framing and print quality, Fab's art experts break it all down—so you can find the right art for your space.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the scribble still read as a pug from across the room?

Yes, from about two to three metres the overlapping lines settle and the pug reads clearly, with the face and folds sharpest. Up close you see the individual pen strokes instead. A medium size on a plain wall gives the best of both: recognisable from the sofa, interesting when you walk past it.

Does it need a busy wall or a plain one behind it?

Plain works best. The drawing is made of fine crossing lines, so patterned wallpaper or a heavily textured wall competes with it and the pug starts to disappear. Flat white, off-white, pale grey or a soft green painted wall all let the ink stand out. Leave a bit of clear wall on each side too.

Can I pair it with a second dog drawing?

Yes. Two portrait pieces in the same loose pen style hang well side by side, spaced roughly 5-8 cm apart at matching heights. Keep both the same size so neither wins. If you are mixing breeds, stick to the same black-on-white treatment so the pair looks deliberate rather than collected at random.
