    About This Art

For a living room full of curves, this sleeping dog brings the check. It puts one calm, dark shape on a pale wall and lets everything else settle around it. The room reads quieter straight away, because there is a single point to look at instead of five competing ones. Hang it above a low sofa, over a desk, or on the run of wall beside a doorway where the eye lands as you walk in. Pair it with black metal, pale wood, grey stoneware and plain painted walls. Do not crowd it with busy pattern or bright colour prints on either side — the white background needs breathing room to work. Printed on premium fine-art paper, with the option of a real wood frame.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

    Made responsibly
FSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the fine linework still read at a smaller size?

At small sizes the coat starts to look like a solid dark shape and you lose the individual strokes in the face and paws. If you want the drawn detail to show, go for a medium size and hang it where people pass within a couple of metres. Larger sizes hold the detail well but leave a lot of open white around the dog.

Does the white background need a mount or border to look right?

It does not need one, because the artwork already carries plenty of white space of its own. A slim frame with a narrow border is enough. If your wall is also white, a black frame gives the edge some definition so the piece does not look like it is floating off into the wall.

Is this obviously a doberman, or does it read as any dark dog?

The ears, the long muzzle and the tan markings around the face and legs make the breed clear once you are close. From further back it reads more generally as a sleeping short-coated dog, which is why it also suits people who simply like calm animal drawings rather than breed-specific art.
