    About This Art

Curled up on a patchwork quilt with its nose tucked in, this sleeping red fox suits anyone who wants a bedroom or nursery to feel like a slow Sunday morning. The painting is all texture: dabbed gouache fur, stitched squares of mustard, plum, navy and blush, a steaming blue-and-white teacup and a pleated lamp, all set against periwinkle wallpaper of inky leaves and pink buds. A painted gold scroll border with tiny hearts runs round the edge on a soft pink ground. The orange fur glows against white linen, rattan and pale oak, and the pinks pick up a blush throw or velvet cushion. Hang it above a bedside table or chest of drawers at eye level; at medium size the stitch marks read clearly from across the room. On canvas the woven surface echoes the stitching of the quilt.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

From sizing to framing and print quality, Fab's art experts break it all down—so you can find the right art for your space.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

What size works best for this fox painting?

Medium is the sweet spot. The picture is full of small detail, from the stitches on each quilt square to the dabbed fur and the hearts in the border, and that detail is best seen from one to two metres away. Over a bedside table, chest of drawers or cot, a medium size fills the space without overwhelming a soft room.

Will the colours suit a neutral bedroom?

Yes, if your neutrals are warm. The blush pink ground and orange fox sit happily with cream, oatmeal and white linen, pale oak and rattan. Pick one accent from the quilt, such as mustard, plum or navy, for a cushion or throw and the room will feel tied together. It is less at home with cold greys.

Is it suitable for a nursery or a child's room?

It suits both well. A sleeping fox tucked under a quilt with a cup of tea is a gentle bedtime scene, and the soft pinks, lavender and warm orange work for any child. The detail gives little ones plenty to spot as they grow, and the gold border keeps it grown-up enough for a guest room later.
