    About This Art

January is when a hallway needs help. The front door opens onto grey, the coats pile up and the one window gives nothing back. Hang the dog there. Mustard this deep holds its warmth under a bare bulb, and the navy spots give the eye something to count while you kick off your boots. Pale floorboards or terracotta tile under it, a chalky off-white wall behind. Nothing patterned within a metre. His eyes are shut, so the mood is patience rather than fuss, which is what a weekday morning wants. Size it at 50cm square or more. Smaller than that and the spots blur into texture and the joke goes quiet. Come April you will not take him down. On canvas the mustard runs right to the edge, so wall and colour meet with nothing in between.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

    Made responsibly
FSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the mustard work with a grey hallway?

Yes, and better than most colours would. Mid and pale greys make the mustard look warmer, and the navy spots pick up any cooler grey in the paint. Avoid greys with a green or yellow cast, which muddy the pairing. A white or off-white skirting under it helps, and a plain runner in jute or dark blue finishes the floor without competing.

What size should I hang this in a child's room?

Go for around 50cm square and hang it lower than you would for adults, roughly at the child's eye height when standing. At that size the spots read as individual marks and the dog has presence from the doorway. Above a low bed or a toy chest works well. Smaller sizes are fine in a cluster with two or three quieter pieces around it.

    Is this a dalmatian?

He is a spotted dog drawn as a character rather than a breed study, so dalmatian owners will see their dog in him and so will owners of pointers and spaniels. The spots are loose brush marks, not an accurate coat. If you want a faithful likeness of a particular breed, this is not the piece, but if you want a dog with a bit of personality, it is.
