    About This Art

We like Japanese figure scenes best when they come with a little abrasion. This one has it — the cherry blossoms have started to drop, the robes are heavy with pattern, and the two figures keep their faces half-hidden under wide straw hats.

Put it on a wall and the room slows down. The warm sand background reads as a soft neutral, so the deep red robe and the faded blue cloud pattern get to do all the talking. Rooms that were feeling a bit flat suddenly have a focal point.

It hangs best at eye level on a calm wall — above a low sideboard, a bed, or a hallway console. Give it a bit of breathing room either side. It doesn't need to fight for attention.

Pair with pale oak, linen, stoneware, paper lanterns, anything with a quiet hand-made feel. Soft brass works. So does matte black.

Don't crowd it with other strong patterns or another statement piece on the same wall — let the robes carry the visual interest. Stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang straight out of the box.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Does the red robe read as a strong colour pop or sit quietly?

It's a deep, slightly faded red — closer to brick than scarlet. Against the warm sand background it reads as a focal point, but a soft one. It won't dominate a calm room, and it pairs naturally with oak, linen and stoneware rather than fighting them.

Will this work in a small bedroom or feel too busy?

It works. The background is a calm sand neutral and most of the detail sits in the two robes, so the eye has somewhere to rest. In a small bedroom, the medium size above a low headboard is the sweet spot. Avoid hanging it next to other patterned textiles on the same wall.

Are the figures' faces visible, or hidden by the hats?

Mostly hidden. The wide straw hats cover the upper face, and only a small slice of one figure shows. That's deliberate in Sekka's work — the robes and the season do the storytelling. If you want a face-forward portrait this isn't it, but if you like quiet, anonymous figures, it lands well.
