    About This Art

Unlike most food art, this doesn't wait for approval. A maki roll, a bowl of miso, pickled ginger and a glass of water sit together on warm cream, with the kanji for 'cheers' across the top in deep blue.

Put it up and the kitchen feels a bit more deliberate. The orange bowl and brown chopsticks add warmth, the green and pink keep things cheerful, and the lettering gives the wall something to read.

It earns its keep above a small dining table, beside a coffee station, in a breakfast nook, or on a narrow kitchen wall where a window won't fit.

Pair with pale oak, linen, ceramic mugs and stoneware bowls. A potted herb or two doesn't hurt.

Don't crowd it with other busy food prints — one quiet companion is plenty.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

Made responsiblyFSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

What does the writing at the top actually mean?

It's the Japanese word 'kanpai', which means 'cheers' — the toast you give before drinking or eating. It's painted in deep blue brush-style strokes at the top of the print, so it reads as part of the picture rather than as a slogan tacked on.

Will the bright orange bowl clash with a cool grey kitchen?

Honestly, it might. The warm orange and cream are the loudest notes, and they're happiest against off-white, cream, pale wood or warm-toned paint. In a cool grey or stark white kitchen the orange will sit forward rather than blend, so it's better suited to warmer schemes.

Is the print readable from across the room or only up close?

Both. The bowl, the maki roll and the kanji read clearly from across a small kitchen or dining nook, while the smaller details — the tofu cubes, the cucumber slice, the pickled ginger — reward a closer look when you're seated at the table.
