    About This Art

Rooms go quieter when deep red is this sure of itself. The check does the heavy lifting here, and the little terrier holds the middle of it with a steady, slightly cheeky look. Hang it and a plain wall stops being plain — the pattern gives the room a bit of rhythm, and the warm red pulls out the tones already in your wood and leather. It works above a console in a hallway, on a kitchen feature wall, or in a snug where people actually sit. Pair it with painted furniture, checked or striped cushions, cream stoneware and simple brass handles. Don't crowd it with other strong patterns on the same wall; give it space and let the check be the pattern. Printed on premium fine-art paper, with the option of a real wood frame.

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the checkerboard background look too busy on a small hallway wall?

It shouldn't, as long as it's the only pattern in that eyeline. The squares are hand-painted and slightly uneven, so they read as texture rather than sharp graphics from a step or two back. Keep the wall plain, skip patterned wallpaper or a second busy print nearby, and it settles quickly.

Is the red warm brick red or closer to burgundy?

It sits between the two. Most of the squares are a deep brick red, with some shifting darker towards wine and a few brighter, more orange-red patches where the paint is thinner. That variation means it works with terracotta, aged leather and warm wood as well as with deeper reds.

Does it only suit dog owners, or does it work as general wall art?

It works either way. The check pattern carries most of the visual interest, so it reads as a piece of pattern-led painting first and a dog portrait second. People without a terrier still hang it in hallways and kitchens for the warmth and the bit of character it brings.
