    Rooms go quieter when deep red is this sure of itself. The Snail is Matisse's late cut-paper masterpiece — bright blocks of green, purple, orange and blue spiralling inside a confident red border, with his name set in plain type below.

    Put this on a wall and the room finds a centre. Other colours in the space stop competing and start supporting it. Quiet sofas, plain rugs and pale walls suddenly look intentional instead of bare.

    It hangs best as a soloist, centred above a sofa, sideboard or bed at eye level. Give it a bit of breathing room on either side — this print doesn't need company to do its job.

    Pairs naturally with oak or walnut timber, cream plaster walls, linen upholstery and a single ceramic vase. Brass or matte black hardware both work.

    Don't crowd it with other bold prints or busy wallpaper — one strong voice per wall.

    Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

    Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

    When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

    Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

    Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

    You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

    How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

    Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

    Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

    What's your return policy?

    If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

    Is the word MATISSE printed on the artwork itself?

    Yes. The bold MATISSE lettering and the red border are part of the design — this is the exhibition-poster version of The Snail, not a plain reproduction of the cut-out alone. If you want only the cut-paper composition without the text, this isn't the right print for you.

    Will the deep red border clash with warm walls?

    It depends on the warm tone. The red sits happily against off-white, cream, soft plaster and pale oak. It can fight a strong terracotta or orange wall, where both reds compete. On cool greys, deep greens or navy it actually settles down and looks more grown-up than you'd expect.

    Does the composition lean in one direction?

    The cut-paper blocks spiral loosely around the centre, so the eye lands in the middle and then drifts outward. It hangs well as a single piece centred on a wall. It doesn't pull left or right, which makes it easy to place above a sofa, bed or sideboard without having to balance it with a second print.
