    About This Art

February is when a living room needs this most. The garden outside has gone to sticks and the light comes in flat and grey, and a wall of summer canopy above the sofa does what the window cannot. Pale sage in the leaves picks up whatever daylight there is. The dark green behind it gives the room somewhere to rest its eyes. Hang it low, a hand above the sofa back, and let it run the full width of the seat. Linen in oat or stone under it, a wool throw, nothing patterned within reach. Come June it earns its place a second way, pulling the garden indoors when the doors stand open. Keep the walls warm white. Cooler greys turn the greens sour. On canvas the deep greens read richer and the piece hangs with no glass between you and the leaves.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

From sizing to framing and print quality, Fab's art experts break it all down—so you can find the right art for your space.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the greens make a north-facing room feel colder?

Not if the wall behind it is warm. The pale sage in the leaves reflects what daylight there is, and the cream in the bark adds warmth of its own. Trouble only starts with cool grey paint, which pulls the greens towards blue. Warm white, oat or a soft clay wall keeps the whole thing summery even in flat February light.

Does it suit a bedroom or is it really a living room piece?

Both, for different reasons. In a living room it fills the long gap above a sofa and gives the room a focal point that is not the television. In a bedroom the view up through leaves is a calm thing to wake under, and the wide shape sits naturally across a double or king headboard. Keep bedding in stone or oat rather than a competing green.

What wall colour makes the dark green look its best?

Warm white first, then chalky off-white or pale clay. The deep green in the shadows needs a light wall around it to read as depth rather than a dark block. Avoid mid greys and anything with a blue undertone. If you want a bolder pairing, a soft sage wall works, because it lets the pale leaves and cream bark do the contrast.
