Landscape prints: what to know

Short answers on picking a scene, choosing framed or unframed, and where a wide view hangs best

How big should a landscape art print be above my sofa?

The two-thirds rule is your friend here: your print should be roughly two-thirds the width of your sofa. For a standard three-seater (around 200cm wide), a 100x70cm landscape art print hits the sweet spot. It fills the wall without crowding it and gives the room a proper focal point. Our largest framed landscape prints come in at 100x70cm, which works beautifully above most sofas and arrives ready to hang straight out of the box.

Why choose landscape orientation over portrait for wall art?

Landscape format art prints naturally echo the horizontal lines in a room, from sofas and sideboards to headboards and mantels. That makes them feel anchored and intentional rather than just stuck on a wall. Portrait prints draw the eye upward and suit narrow spaces, but if you're filling a wide blank wall above furniture, a horizontal print almost always looks more considered. We think landscape shape wall art is the single most useful orientation for living rooms and bedrooms.

Do your landscape prints come framed and ready to hang?

Yes, and this matters more than you'd think. Every framed landscape art print ships as one piece, with the print properly fitted into a solid wood frame with UV-protective acrylic glazing, and hanging fixtures already attached. No warping, no bubbling, no DIY assembly. You open the box, find a nail, and you're done. If you've ever ordered a frame and print separately and spent an evening trying to get them to cooperate, you'll appreciate the difference.

Can I get panoramic or extra-wide landscape prints?

Our widest landscape art prints go up to 100x70cm framed, which gives you a genuinely impactful wide format without needing a warehouse wall to hang it on. If you want something even more dramatic, our canvas landscape prints are available up to 150x100cm and look stunning hung unframed for a clean, gallery feel. Both options use giclée printing for sharp detail and rich colour that holds up beautifully in person.

Where do landscape shape prints work best besides above a sofa?

Wide landscape prints are brilliant above headboards, especially in bedrooms where you want calm, grounding energy rather than something that towers over you while you sleep. They also work perfectly above a hallway console table or a dining room sideboard, where the horizontal format mirrors the furniture below. One of our favourite spots is above a bathtub in a larger bathroom, where a landscape print can turn a functional room into something that actually feels designed.
