Vintage botanical prints: your questions

Short answers on picking a specimen, framed or unframed, hanging a set and how returns work

How is a canvas botanical print different from a paper art print?

Canvas has a soft woven surface and a slightly matt finish that gives antique plant illustrations a painterly, aged feel. Paper prints tend to read crisper and more graphic, and are often shown with a white border for a clean, contemporary look. Both formats are offered as decorative reproductions, framed or unframed, so the choice mostly comes down to the texture and framing style you prefer.

How do you style vintage botanical canvas prints at home?

They work beautifully in groups: two, three or more pieces of similar scale hung in a grid create a coordinated gallery wall that feels like pages from an old plant book. Single larger canvases suit a bedroom wall, hallway or above a sideboard. The warm parchment tones and soft greens sit easily with wood furniture, linen and neutral paint, and they bring a garden-like calm to kitchens and bathrooms too.
