What are vintage botanical prints called?

They're usually described as botanical prints, botanical illustrations or plant plates images where plants were first observed and classified for scientific study, then later enjoyed as decoration. Older examples are often labelled antique botanical prints, while reproductions of that same imagery are sold as vintage botanical art prints. Names vary by seller, but flowers, leaves, ferns, fruit and cactus studies all fall under the same botanical umbrella.

What's the difference between an antique botanical print and a vintage-style reproduction?

An antique print is an original sheet pulled centuries ago, typically from a historic plant book, and is sold as a piece of history. A vintage-style reproduction recreates that same botanical imagery on new paper or canvas so you can hang it without hunting down a fragile original. Fab sells decorative reproductions the classic look of antique plant studies, made for everyday walls.

Which rooms suit vintage botanical wall art best?

Almost any, which is part of their appeal. Soft, faded plant studies bring quiet greenery to bedrooms and bathrooms, add warmth above a sideboard in a dining room, and suit kitchens especially well when the subjects are fruit, herbs or vegetables. In living rooms, a larger single print over a sofa reads as elegant rather than busy, while smaller sizes fit hallways, home studies and student rooms.
