    About This Art

Most hallways have everything except a sense of humour. The coat hooks are right, the paint is right, and nobody smiles on the way in. A bedsheet ghost fixes that. Guests get the joke before they get their shoes off. Black and cream check sits happily against tongue-and-groove or plain painted plaster, so it reads as decor rather than a Halloween leftover. Hang it at eye level on the wall facing the front door. Keep the surrounding kit simple, a bench, a basket, a bare bulb. Cream walls flatter the border. Deeper paint, forest green or slate, pushes the white sheet forward and the joke lands harder. Leave it up all year. October just makes it look planned. In a slim black frame the edge disappears into the check and the ghost does the talking.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will it look like Halloween decor in the middle of summer?

Less than you would think. The colours are black and cream rather than orange and purple, and the gingham border reads as kitchen cloth, so in June it sits with a farmhouse scheme as a quirky vintage picture. Keep pumpkins and cobwebs away from it and it stays decor. People who know it is a ghost smile, and that is the point.

What size works in a narrow hallway?

Around 40 to 50cm wide suits most terrace hallways. That is big enough for the ghost to read from the front door and small enough that the check border stays a border rather than wallpaper. On a wider end wall you can go up a size, but keep it alone. One picture on that wall, hung at eye level, does more than three.

Does the black border fight with a dark painted wall?

It holds up well. On forest green or slate the cream squares do the separating, so the border still reads as a frame and the white sheet comes forward. On a black wall it loses the edge and looks like a hole, so stop short of that. Cream and off-white walls are the easiest match and the check sits flat against them.
