    About This Art

You don't need more decor. You need one bird study with teeth. This one has it: a blue and rust bluebird drawn with real precision, sat on a stone ledge against warm cream paper that has been left to age. Put it up and a flat wall suddenly has a focal point that rewards a second look. It suits a study wall above a desk, a narrow hallway where people pass close, or a bedroom where you want interest without noise. Pair it with dark wood, aged leather, linen and a bit of stoneware. Don't crowd it with bright modern graphics or glossy metallics; they flatten the aged paper and make the blue look printed rather than painted. On premium fine-art paper the paper tone and fine linework stay convincing.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

    Made responsibly
FSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Is the blue strong enough to read from across the room?

Yes, but it works as an accent rather than a block of colour. The bird sits against pale tan paper, so the blue reads clearly at three or four metres while the rest stays quiet. In a large room, size up to keep the bird itself a decent scale rather than a small detail.

Will the Latin caption and plate numbers look too fussy up close?

They are small and sit at the very edges, so from normal viewing distance they read as part of the aged paper rather than as text. Up close they add to the old study-plate character. If you want the wording legible, hang it at eye level in a hallway or above a desk rather than high on a wall.

Does it work in a cool grey room, or does it need warm walls?

It leans warm, so chalky cream, soft tan or muted green walls suit it best. Against cold grey the paper tone can look yellowed rather than aged. If your walls are cool, a warm dark wood frame and a nearby wood or leather piece will bridge the two tones.
