    About This Art

Think of it as Audubon with less reverence and better instincts. The pair of stormy petrels keeps all the natural-history detail of the 1830s plate, but the muted sea and soft cream ground let the birds breathe rather than perform. Hang it where you want a room to feel a little older and a little more curious — a study, a hallway, a coastal bedroom. It works best above a low piece of furniture so the eye can take in the wingspan, and it sits happily on a chalky off-white, soft sage or washed blue-green wall. Pair with oak or walnut, linen, leather and quiet ceramics. Avoid hanging it next to loud modern abstracts — this one wants room to settle.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

    Made responsibly
FSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the muted palette feel too quiet on a bright white wall?

On a crisp bright white wall the soft cream ground can look slightly warm against the paint, which usually reads as welcome rather than washed out. If you want more punch, a brown or black wood frame sharpens the edges, or hang it on a chalky off-white, soft sage or washed blue-green wall where the muted tones settle in more naturally.

Does this work in a coastal room without feeling too 'seaside themed'?

Yes — that's one of its strengths. There are no lighthouses, shells or rope motifs, just two seabirds over a grey-green sea, so it reads as quietly coastal rather than literal beach decor. It sits well with linen, oak, stoneware and washed blue-green walls, and won't clash with a more grown-up, lived-in coastal scheme.

What size works best above a standard console or sideboard?

A medium landscape size is the sweet spot above most consoles and sideboards — wide enough to span roughly two-thirds of the furniture below, with both birds and the sea line clearly readable from a sofa or across a hallway. Go larger only if you have a wall over about 140cm wide and want it to act as a clear focal point.
