We’re serious about art, ask away
From sizing to framing and print quality, Fab's art experts break it all down—so you can find the right art for your space.
Can you put art prints in a bathroom without them getting ruined?
Absolutely, and it's one of the best things you can do for a boring bathroom. Our framed toilet art prints use UV-protective acrylic glazing over museum-grade matte paper, so they're well protected from light and general bathroom humidity. We'd avoid hanging anything directly above a shower or bath where it'll get regularly splashed, but on the wall opposite or above the toilet? Perfect. The acrylic glaze also means no glare from bathroom spotlights, which is a common problem with cheap glass-fronted frames.
What size toilet art print works best above the loo?
For the wall directly above a standard toilet, we recommend a single 30x40cm or 40x50cm print. That leaves comfortable breathing room on either side without looking like a postage stamp. If you've got a wider wall (say, next to the loo rather than directly behind it), a pair of 30x40cm prints hung side by side with about 5cm between them looks brilliant and gives you room to play with funny bathroom wall art pairings. Avoid going too large in a small loo or the print will feel like it's looming over you.
Do funny toilet prints actually look good, or do they come across as tacky?
It completely depends on the execution. A crudely printed novelty poster from a bargain bin? Tacky. A well-designed funny toilet print on thick matte paper in a proper solid wood frame? It looks intentional, confident, and genuinely makes people smile. The trick is pairing humour with quality. Our frames are FSC-certified wood with a clean, precise finish, so even a cheeky bathroom quote or playful illustration reads as a design choice rather than a joke that overstayed its welcome.
How do I create a gallery wall in a small bathroom?
Start with three prints, not more. In a small bathroom, a tight vertical stack of three 21x30cm prints works far better than a scattered gallery arrangement because you're working with narrow wall space. Keep the frames the same colour and style so it reads as cohesive rather than cluttered. Hang them 3-4cm apart with the middle print at eye level. This approach turns even the tiniest loo into a space with real personality, and our bathroom art prints arrive ready to hang so you can get the whole thing done in fifteen minutes.
What kind of artwork actually looks good in a bathroom?
For toilet wall art specifically, we think bold graphic prints, playful typography, and tongue-in-cheek illustrations work best because bathrooms are inherently informal spaces where you can afford to have fun. Black and white bathroom prints suit modern or minimalist bathrooms beautifully, while colourful botanical or quirky character prints warm up a plain white suite. The best bathroom wall art is something that makes you (or your guests) pause and smile. Avoid anything too serious or precious in here. Save the grand landscapes for the living room.
