    About This Art

'Too safe,' said nobody standing in front of warm yellow sandstone and dark green leaves. This is the kind of travel-poster watercolour that gives a quiet wall something to talk about — Schonbrunn Palace seen from the gardens, with orange blooms in the foreground and a clear blue sky overhead.

Put it up and the room feels brighter and a bit more lived-in. The yellows lift cream and oat walls, the deep greens settle the busier patches, and the loose brushwork keeps it relaxed rather than formal.

It works above a sofa, a console or a sideboard in a living room or hallway, and earns its keep in a bright kitchen or breakfast nook too. Best where there's good daylight.

Pair it with linen, rattan, oak and brass. Terracotta planters, stoneware bowls and a few real plants nearby reinforce the garden mood without overdoing it.

Avoid hanging it next to other busy travel posters — let it be the one that does the talking. Printed on premium fine-art paper.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Is the palace clearly recognisable as Schonbrunn?

Yes. The warm yellow facade, the central pavilion and the formal garden axis are all there, and the title band beneath names it directly. The treatment is loose watercolour rather than photographic, so it reads as a painted travel poster rather than a literal architectural study.

Will the warm yellows clash with a cool grey or blue room?

Probably, yes. The yellows and oranges are the loudest notes in the piece and they fight cool grey schemes rather than settling into them. It's much happier against off-white, cream, oat, soft plaster, or a warm green wall, and alongside natural materials like oak, linen and rattan.

Does it work in a hallway given the vertical shape?

It does. The portrait composition suits a narrow wall above a slim console, and the foliage frame draws the eye into the palace at the centre. Hang it slightly above eye level, keep the console styling simple, and let the print be the single focal point rather than crowding it with other frames.
